  • Access to emergency medical services
  • Clean air and water
  • Continued crime reduction
  • Effective senior transportation, inviting senior centers, supported family linkages
  • Equal opportunity for formerly incarcerated people
  • Municipal IDs to help residents function safely – working, banking, etc.
  • Expanded parks, playing fields, pedestrian and bike ways

Affordable Housing

  • Stable property values and neighborhoods
  • Strong Just Cause Eviction and Fair Rent Protections for tenants and landlords
  • More and more affordable units built and fewer “in lieu” developer fees
  • Sufficient Section 8 and public housing options, especially for seniors
  • Careful examination and effective oversight of operations within the Richmond Housing Authority
  • Principal reduction for victims of predatory mortgage lenders

Diversified Economy and More Jobs

  • Increased spending power among those receiving higher minimum wages
  • Protected light industrial zones and expanded neighborhood-based planning
  • A local, home grown, vigorous, flexible workforce ready for responsible, mid to higher level skilled technical and managerial jobs out of high school!
  • Increased registered apprenticeships and expanded apprenticeable occupations, two-year certified technical post-secondary and job training programs
  • Attractive, lively, pedestrian friendly town centers in Richmond along bike friendly Macdonald Avenue, 23rd Street, San Pablo Avenue filled with shopping, restaurants, culture and entertainment
  • Pathways to business licensing and start-up fees for small businesses and micro-enterprises
  • Preference and advocacy for Richmond-owned businesses
  • Solvent non-profit arts organizations, expanded art component in public work projects
  • Effective re-entry into productive lives by those returning from incarceration
  • Transition support to employment and self-sufficiency for people without homes Every vote will count in this election.
